The Amazing Lego-Coaster

The girls called us from their big San Diego adventure.  They are having a good time with grandmommy and grandpoppy.  Yesterday was the big trip to Lego Land, and today is the San Diego Zoo.

We asked Abby if she enjoyed Lego Land, and she said it was OK, but the rides weren't that good. She declined to give specifics, but I imagine that perhaps she snapped her feet into the floorboard, and couldn't pull them off, or that a ride broke in two pieces when someone applied pressure at the wrong point.

We then talked to Alexis, who said she really enjoyed the rides there.  She described a "Sky Rider" thing, where you ride...in the sky.  Jill later said, "It sounds like that boring Dumbo ride at Disneyworld."

I loved the Dumbo ride.  Alexis and I went on it three times.  She and I share an irrational fear of carnival rides that go fast, up-and-down, upside down, or are exciting in any way.  Abby and Jill are the daredevils of the Smith clan.  They even went on the "It's A Small World, After All" ride.

Yes, I know that's not a scary ride (creepy, yes).  But that song is in your head now, isn't it?  And it will stay there for at least the next 30 minutes.  You're welcome.
