Alexis is a sleep talker. Usually, right around 11:15 or so, we''ll hear her talking from her room. It used to be 10:45, but slowly worked its way to 11:15 as her bedtime got later. Last night, we got home late, and I didn't hear her till 11:45.
She was telling someone, very insistently, "No no no no no no no no no." And then a final "Noooooooooo." Pronounced like a long "new." Like she was originally telling some one not to do something, but ended with a "boy, aren't you stupid."
The funny thing is, her sleep talking is almost always snippets of conversations, generally starting with a conjunction:
"But I didn't..."
"And then you..."
"Or maybe we..."
It's always explanatory, or at least directive. She never seems distressed, but sometimes sounds annoyed. If only the sleep people would listen to her!
I keep waiting for a "I love you daddy!", which, under her sleep architecture, would be "but I love you daddy..." I also have been trying to get her to watch other School House Rocks epidodes, so that maybe her dream mind can throw in a gerund, or an interjection.
"Hurray! I'm for the other team."
