Abby competed in the "Math Pentathlon" this past weekend. A gaggle of first graders locked in intense competition. Not quite "to the death," but intense nonetheless. Abby won three events, tied one, and lost one (we're reviewing the tapes for any signs of official or opponent malfeasance). She received 12 out of 15 possible points and was awarded a bronze medal.
She won in: Long Division; Equestrian; and Archery; tied in Greco Roman Wrestling; and lost in Cross Country Skiing. We are very proud of her (and will be working on the skiing this winter).
