Abby went with Grandmommy this weekend on a train bound for Dallas. She met up with a gambler, they were both too tired to sleep. Wait, no, damn you Kenny Rogers!
They went on a special Amtrak trip together, leaving Alexis in Austin to have her most amazing weekend ever. It's not that we did anything spectacular, it's just that "Abby's not getting to do this" and "Abby's missing this." She got to cuddle with us all by herself, she went 72 hours without a reason to bicker with anyone. She did fun things by herself and with us.
Mind you, she (probably) loves her sister. It's just that is was nice to have a break from her. The news we got from Dallas is that Abby spent a chunk of time playing by herself because ("I don't get to play alone at home.")
Alexis painted pottery with Jill, went to her ice skating lessons, had brunch with the family, and had a fun time at the big UT Open House. A fun weekend, sure, but the tipping point from fun to fantastic was most definitely the absence of Abby.
Still wating on that "twin bond" to develop.

I spoke with Abby when she was on the train and I think it's a tie for who had the best weekend.
Granted it was for only 10 seconds (as usual), but that's what her grandmommy told me.
