Do NOT Steal My Bag of Money
We live down the street from a country club. We are not members, because, well, I'm Jewish. Also, we have no interest in golf and our disposable income is best disposed of in different ways.
Every major holiday, the country club displays their "flag-gasm" - a vast array of massive US flags that shows their awesome American pride. The display comes out on the 4th of July, Memorial Day, Christmas, Veteran's Day, Groundhog Day, and Secretary's Day (sorry - it's now "Office Administrator" Day).
This sign is directly in front of the country club. I like it for a few different reasons. First, I think the thief is the guy from Monopoly before he gets sent to jail. Which makes me wonder if you could steal the neighborhood bags of cash if you had a "Get Out of Jail Free" card. Second, I'm absolutely certain that some of my neighbors do keep their money and valuables in a rucksack emblazoned with a large "$" sign.
And finally, the sign makes me think that there are times when the neighborhood watch is NOT in effect. I go past the country club every day on the chance that the neighborhood has been told to stand down from watching. I have my all-black outfit at the ready, and a spare "get out of jail free" card, just in case.
I'm looking for the "Neighborhood Watch on Hiatus" or the "Neighborhood is Not Currently Watching" sign.
