Grandpa seems to be done. Whenever we talk, he tells us that he is ready to go. I don't think he is having fun anymore. When Jill and I visited a few weeks back, he was sitting in front of the television with Fox News blaring at him. I know he is ready to go when he doesn't really notice that he's watching Fox News. Or like my nephew Ryan calls it, "Fake news. Like the Daily Show."
We changed him back to CNN, but it didn't sem to register. The next time we saw him he seemed to be not watching "Snakes on a Plane."
The man is 99 1/2 years old. That is certainly a lot of living. And as you can see, his ensemble seems to reflect a certain, well, Old Fart-ness. I am sad that he's not enjoying life anymore. I think we all want him to hang on till December 24th, for his 100th birthday ("I'm one day older than Jesus!"). All of us, that is, except grandpa.

That is too bad. Grandma had a bad second half of her 99th year too. But she seemed to pull out of her funk as she rounded 100 and is still going strong (relatively speaking) at 101
