We are close. A few months back, Jill and I decided to take the girls on a trip to Disney World. We thought it would be cool to make it a SURPRISE trip to Disney World. We were inspired by a friend who said she did that with her son.
Friend, "Son, if you could go anywhere, where would you want to go?"
Son: "China!"
Friend: "Where else?"
Son: "Galveston?"
Friend: "Where else?"
"Son: "Disney World!"
Friend: "THAT's where we are going today!"
So we have been planning but keeping it from the girls. To be honest, they are a bit oblivious. They didn't catch on one night at dinner when Jill's mother asked them straight up: "Are you excited about going to Disney World?"
I gave her a loving, gentle nudge with my foot to her leg. Three times.
She added "I mean, someday. Maybe in a year. Or two. Or never. But someday you might go, and that would be fun. But not this summer."
Subtle, but the girls did not even get a hint.
So we leave on Saturday coming up. Our cover story is that we are going to Houston to see family, then maybe to Galveston (but not to China). We plan to tell them in the car that our trip will be a bit further than we thought.
Jill thinks I have been nudging the line a little too much to get them excited. Talking about our trip with Kaileigh 10 years ago, wearing my Tigger shirt, talking in pig latin.
"I'm excited about isneyworld-day! It'll be great to see ickey-may ouse-may."
Six more days of stealth. Don't tell them!

I am sad that Jill's and my spontaneous convo in Spanish didn't make the blog :)
So THAT's what you were talking about!! You know I don't speak Spanish.
