I am the 14th fastest cyclist in Austin! Or more accurately, the 14th fastest person who signed up for the time trial during the 50-mile Le Triple Crown from Bicycle Sport Shop on Saturday. Even more accurately, 14th out of 26. But I did the 1/2 mile sprint section in 1 minute, eight seconds, which calculates out to approximately 68.3 miles per hour (rounding up). If you factor in age, I'm sure I would have won, or at least been in the top 13.
During the ride (in which I was in fact the 14th fastest cycling in Austin), the rest stops were giving out samples of these little energy wafers endorsed by Lance Armstrong. I think they were trying to get rid of them. I admit that after eating one, I felt full of energy. I'm guessing it has EPO in it, so I'm avoiding blood tests for the next few weeks. I would hate to be stripped of my title as 14th fastest cycling out of 26.
Jill did another triathlon Sunday. She didn't dope.
