I just got a call from Central Market (a really cool grocery store) that I have been chosen as one of five finalists in their Hatch Chile recipe contest. My entry was Gasp-Hatch-O (very difficult to say) - a cold tomato soup with roasted hatch chiles. The final tasting is this Sunday. I could win 52 pounds of Hatch chiles (and a $500 gift certificate to Central Market). I'd post the recipe here, but it's quite possible that the form I signed with my entry makes that some type of felony. Send out positive thoughts for me on Sunday August 26th!
